What to do

If the source cannot distinguish the final digit, decimal mark, or currency symbol, request a clearer document. Repeating extraction on the same blurred pixels does not supply the missing evidence. Record which values remain unreadable so they do not become confident-looking guesses.

Inspect a full-resolution copy; messaging-app thumbnails may conceal the quality of the original attachment.

Two worked review cases

These cases are fictional teaching data, not measured extraction results. Use the source excerpts to practise deciding what belongs in the reviewed output.

Suggested review columns

ColumnDefinition or instruction
Unreadable fieldName of the required value that cannot be resolved from the source.
Affected page or areaLocation needing a clearer copy.
Replacement sourceReference to the newly received scan or original PDF.

These are suggested staging-sheet columns. Printed facts can inform field descriptions in Parzable’s Schemas view; source references, review statuses, and decisions must be supplied by your own review process.

A practical review sequence

  1. Compare the original file with any preview or compressed copy.
  2. List specific unreadable values rather than labelling the whole job complete.
  3. Retake or request the source and rerun only the affected documents.

Errors to avoid

  • Do not infer an unreadable invoice number from the previous invoice.
  • Sharpening can alter appearance without establishing the original character.

Use the case worksheet with a small sample

Download this page’s worked-case worksheet. It contains the two fictional cases above and a blank row for your own review exercise. Keep any real source documents in your agreed storage process.

For the broader product workflow, see the related guide. Parzable accepts PDF/image inputs and downloads CSV. Suggested structures here are review targets; nested item rows, automatic approvals, and destination integrations are not guaranteed.
