What to do

A digital PDF can contain selectable text, while a scan can contain page images; some files contain both. Test the actual file rather than inferring its quality from the .pdf extension. Prefer complete, clear source documents over screenshots or repeated conversions.

Selectable text helps inspect a document but does not prove its extracted field meanings are correct.

Two worked review cases

These cases are fictional teaching data, not measured extraction results. Use the source excerpts to practise deciding what belongs in the reviewed output.

Suggested review columns

ColumnDefinition or instruction
Source originOriginal digital attachment, scan, or photo-based PDF as known.
Visual qualityReviewer check of smallest required text and full pages.
Text-layer observationWhether selection exists, without assuming it matches the visible image.

These are suggested staging-sheet columns. Printed facts can inform field descriptions in Parzable’s Schemas view; source references, review statuses, and decisions must be supplied by your own review process.

A practical review sequence

  1. Open the original attachment and inspect both readability and page completeness.
  2. Compare any converted copy with the original before choosing an input.
  3. Review extracted values against the displayed document regardless of source type.

Errors to avoid

  • Do not promise perfect extraction merely because text is selectable.
  • Do not convert a clear PDF into low-resolution images unnecessarily.

Use the case worksheet with a small sample

Download this page’s worked-case worksheet. It contains the two fictional cases above and a blank row for your own review exercise. Keep any real source documents in your agreed storage process.

For the broader product workflow, see the related guide. Parzable accepts PDF/image inputs and downloads CSV. Suggested structures here are review targets; nested item rows, automatic approvals, and destination integrations are not guaranteed.
