What to do
A cropped edge can remove a sign, first digit, final column, or page number while leaving most of the invoice readable. Check every border and the document’s completeness before treating extracted values as usable. Request the original when important text is outside the image.
A table with its rightmost amount column missing cannot be validated merely from descriptions and quantities.
Two worked review cases
These cases are fictional teaching data, not measured extraction results. Use the source excerpts to practise deciding what belongs in the reviewed output.
| Case | Fictional source excerpt | Review decision |
|---|---|---|
| Missing sign | Left edge cuts off the character before 20.00 | Do not decide whether the amount was positive or negative. |
| Missing final row | Bottom image ends inside the last item description | Request the complete page and check for continuation content. |
Suggested review columns
| Column | Definition or instruction |
|---|---|
| Affected edge | Top, bottom, left, or right boundary missing source content. |
| Missing evidence | Specific amount, sign, row, or reference clipped by the crop. |
| Replacement reference | Complete source received for review. |
These are suggested staging-sheet columns. Printed facts can inform field descriptions in Parzable’s Schemas view; source references, review statuses, and decisions must be supplied by your own review process.
A practical review sequence
- Inspect all borders at full size and look for interrupted characters.
- Compare page numbering and expected continuation pages.
- Replace incomplete captures before approving the affected fields.
Errors to avoid
- Do not estimate a clipped digit from the apparent size of a total.
- Visible supplier and invoice headings do not prove the item table is complete.
Use the case worksheet with a small sample
Download this page’s worked-case worksheet. It contains the two fictional cases above and a blank row for your own review exercise. Keep any real source documents in your agreed storage process.
For the broader product workflow, see the related guide. Parzable accepts PDF/image inputs and downloads CSV. Suggested structures here are review targets; nested item rows, automatic approvals, and destination integrations are not guaranteed.
