What to do

Move the light or camera so reflections and shadows no longer cover printed values. Retake the image rather than trusting a processing filter to reconstruct obscured digits. Check glossy folds, laminated receipts, and the area beneath the camera before accepting the photo.

Brightness adjustments cannot recover text hidden by a fully white reflection or a fully dark area.

Two worked review cases

These cases are fictional teaching data, not measured extraction results. Use the source excerpts to practise deciding what belongs in the reviewed output.

Suggested review columns

ColumnDefinition or instruction
Obscured areaPage region affected by reflection or shadow.
Required field affectedSpecific identifier, date, or amount that needs a retake.
Retake statusWhether the replacement image resolves that field.

These are suggested staging-sheet columns. Printed facts can inform field descriptions in Parzable’s Schemas view; source references, review statuses, and decisions must be supplied by your own review process.

A practical review sequence

  1. Identify which required values are obscured in the original image.
  2. Use diffuse light and change the angle while keeping page perspective reasonable.
  3. Compare the replacement at full size and retain traceability to the original.

Errors to avoid

  • Do not accept an output simply because its total looks plausible.
  • Do not crop away the affected section and then label the document complete.

Use the case worksheet with a small sample

Download this page’s worked-case worksheet. It contains the two fictional cases above and a blank row for your own review exercise. Keep any real source documents in your agreed storage process.

For the broader product workflow, see the related guide. Parzable accepts PDF/image inputs and downloads CSV. Suggested structures here are review targets; nested item rows, automatic approvals, and destination integrations are not guaranteed.
