What to do

Preserve each tax-summary row’s labelled base, rate, and amount rather than forcing all details into one percentage field. Keep any printed combined tax total separate. The source’s tax treatment still needs the responsible reviewer’s judgment.

This worksheet checks transcription and row completeness, not whether a rate should apply to a transaction.

Two worked review cases

These cases are fictional teaching data, not measured extraction results. Use the source excerpts to practise deciding what belongs in the reviewed output.

CaseFictional source excerptReview decision
Two displayed rowsBase 100.00 at 10% gives 10.00; base 50.00 at 20% gives 10.00Retain both rows; the combined printed tax may be 20.00.
Missing baseTax category B: rate 20%; amount 10.00; no base printedKeep the visible values without presenting a derived base as extracted evidence.

Suggested review columns

ColumnDefinition or instruction
Tax row labelPrinted category or label for each summary row.
Base, rate, and amountValues retained together without inventing absent components.
Combined tax totalPrinted combined monetary amount, if explicitly shown.

These are suggested staging-sheet columns. Printed facts can inform field descriptions in Parzable’s Schemas view; source references, review statuses, and decisions must be supplied by your own review process.

A practical review sequence

  1. Count tax-summary rows independently from item rows.
  2. Keep each rate attached to its own labelled amount and base.
  3. Reconcile the monetary total separately and refer treatment questions to the reviewer.

Errors to avoid

  • Do not report a simple average of printed rates as the invoice’s tax rate.
  • Do not create a missing tax row merely to explain an arithmetic difference.

Use the case worksheet with a small sample

Download this page’s worked-case worksheet. It contains the two fictional cases above and a blank row for your own review exercise. Keep any real source documents in your agreed storage process.

For the broader product workflow, see the related guide. Parzable accepts PDF/image inputs and downloads CSV. Suggested structures here are review targets; nested item rows, automatic approvals, and destination integrations are not guaranteed.
