What to do

An invoice can show the full charge and a different remaining balance after a deposit, payment, or credit. Capture the printed total and printed amount due separately. Which value your destination needs depends on the record being prepared.

The largest bold amount is not necessarily the original invoice total. Read the summary labels and adjustments together.

Two worked review cases

These cases are fictional teaching data, not measured extraction results. Use the source excerpts to practise deciding what belongs in the reviewed output.

CaseFictional source excerptReview decision
Partly paidInvoice total 600.00; payment 200.00; amount due 400.00Capture 600.00 and 400.00 separately; do not overwrite either.

Suggested review columns

ColumnDefinition or instruction
Invoice totalPrinted total of this invoice, including its displayed tax.
Amount duePrinted remaining balance payable on this document.
Payments or credits shownPrinted reductions applied to the balance, retaining labels.

These are suggested staging-sheet columns. Printed facts can inform field descriptions in Parzable’s Schemas view; source references, review statuses, and decisions must be supplied by your own review process.

A practical review sequence

  1. List every labelled amount in the summary before choosing a target.
  2. Keep printed payment and credit adjustments available for reconciliation.
  3. Map total and balance columns explicitly to the receiving system.

Errors to avoid

  • Do not add a printed remaining balance to the full invoice total.
  • A zero balance does not mean the original invoice had zero value.

Use the case worksheet with a small sample

Download this page’s worked-case worksheet. It contains the two fictional cases above and a blank row for your own review exercise. Keep any real source documents in your agreed storage process.

For the broader product workflow, see the related guide. Parzable accepts PDF/image inputs and downloads CSV. Suggested structures here are review targets; nested item rows, automatic approvals, and destination integrations are not guaranteed.
