What to do

Keep the service period, account reference, service location, usage, current charges, and overall balance distinct. A utility statement can combine previous balances and new charges, so its amount due may not represent only the current period’s consumption.

Usage units such as kWh or therms are different from currency amounts and need their own labels.

Two worked review cases

These cases are fictional teaching data, not measured extraction results. Use the source excerpts to practise deciding what belongs in the reviewed output.

CaseFictional source excerptReview decision
Previous balanceCurrent charges 90.00; previous balance 30.00; due 120.00Do not report 120.00 as current-period usage cost without qualification.
Different unitsElectricity 300 kWh; gas 20 thermsKeep separate unit-labelled quantities rather than a combined 320 usage value.

Suggested review columns

ColumnDefinition or instruction
Account and service referencePrinted account and service identifiers kept under their roles.
Service period and usagePrinted dates and consumption quantity with its unit.
Current charges and amount dueBoth labelled summary amounts retained separately.

These are suggested staging-sheet columns. Printed facts can inform field descriptions in Parzable’s Schemas view; source references, review statuses, and decisions must be supplied by your own review process.

A practical review sequence

  1. Identify account, service address, and period before interpreting amounts.
  2. Separate consumption tables from monetary charge tables.
  3. Test a representative bill and compare the reviewed summary with its detail pages.

Errors to avoid

  • A usage graph is not an additional charge table.
  • Do not assume account number and service-agreement reference are interchangeable.

Use the case worksheet with a small sample

Download this page’s worked-case worksheet. It contains the two fictional cases above and a blank row for your own review exercise. Keep any real source documents in your agreed storage process.

For the broader product workflow, see the related guide. Parzable accepts PDF/image inputs and downloads CSV. Suggested structures here are review targets; nested item rows, automatic approvals, and destination integrations are not guaranteed.
